Used Excavator Purchase Verification Checklist
Use this checklist to organise questions for a specific used machine. It helps a buyer request evidence and record terms; it is not a substitute for an independent inspection, import advice, or a condition guarantee.
Last reviewed: August 24, 2026 · Source: HMP buyer guidance. Requirements, evidence availability and commercial terms vary by unit and destination.
Identify the exact unit
- Model, serial or identification reference, year and configuration.
- Current location and whether the unit is available for your enquiry.
- Displayed operating hours and the evidence available to support that reading.
- Recent, unit-specific photos showing the machine and any material condition concerns.
Request condition evidence
- Available cold-start, walk-around, operating or live-video material for the exact unit.
- Available condition notes, service information, diagnostic results or inspection material.
- Photos or evidence relevant to the engine, hydraulics, undercarriage, attachment and cab for your intended use.
- The scope, date and author of any inspection material; do not treat general site content as an inspection certificate.
Confirm commercial and logistics terms
- The quoted Incoterm, named port or place, currency, quote-validity period and inclusions/exclusions.
- Loading method, carrier or forwarder arrangements, insurance scope and required export documents.
- Payment milestones, bank-account verification and the written agreement governing the transaction.
- Which charges remain payable at destination, including port handling, customs, tax, registration and inland transport.
Complete your own checks
- Destination-country age, emissions, safety, import and registration requirements with the relevant authority or adviser.
- Independent inspection or lender-required verification where appropriate for your transaction.
- Whether the machine specification, attachments and parts support match the actual project requirement.
- A written record of agreed condition, documentation, commercial terms and next steps before payment.
Use this checklist with a unit-specific enquiry
Send the product link or model, quantity and destination port. Ask for the available evidence for that unit and make sure final commercial terms are agreed in writing.
